* Ferriere Giuseppe Cima logo – Δ – followed by the number indicating the final diameter after crimping is engraved on the press dies and is then transferred on the ferrules when crimping.
** After crimping the ferrule will become longer than original length proportionally.
Lightly grease ferrules and press dies for a better application and to reduce deterioration.
Insert the wire rope in the ferrule.
The rope exceeding the ferrule must come out about twice the diameter of the wire rope (ex. exceeding 24mm for the 12mm rope).
Start crimping about 2-3 mm from the end of the ferrule, on the loop side.
Rotate the opening of the crimping head downward to avoid the fall of metallic residues in the piston.
How to crimp: push the trigger and keep it pressed until maximum pressure and closing of the dies (you’ll hear a ‘clic’).
Pressure will stop automatically. Release the trigger and piston will return automatically in the automatic systems. In case of manual systems please push the return button to retract the piston.
Make 3 crimpings for TC11 ferrules (wire rope Ø 10 mm) and 4 crimpings for TC13 ferrules (wire rope Ø 12 mm), proceeding at a regular distance on the length of the ferrule.
Remove all sharp edges with a file to avoid accidental wounds in case of contact.
We have commissioned the Centre d’Essais et de Certification APAVE in Fontaine (F) to carry out tests on wire ropes terminations according to art. 4.2.2 of the norm EN 15567-1:2014 regarding structures for sport and outdoor activities and overhead acrobatic courses. The test method is described in the art. 6.2 for the breaking load tests and in the art. 6.3 for the fatigue tests in the norm EN 13411-3:2008 ‘Terminations for Steel Wire Ropes-Safety-Ferrules and Ferrule-Securing’.
